Woody Allen is facing another sexual crime allegation, this time from an actress who claims he had an extended sexual relationship with her while she was a minor. The former actress, Christina Engelhardt, says that she had an affair with Allen months before she turned seventeen. At the time, seventeen was the age of consent in New York State.
Engelhardt, in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, claims that she was introduced to Allen in October of 1976 and continued to have a sexual relationship with him for eight years. She also says that she has "no regrets" about her relationship with the comedian and director.
Engelhardt also provided a note from Allen, written in 2001. It was, according to her, the last time Allen tried to get in touch with her.
"I hope you're happy and well. I recall our time together fondly. If you're ever in New York I would love you to meet my wife - she'd like you. We get out to California every so often. If you'd like I'd call and perhaps we could all get together."
Allen, whose reputation has been heavily tarnished by sex scandals, is coming out with a new movie titled A Rainy Day in New York soon.
Dylan Farrow, Allen's daughter, accuses him of molesting her when she was seven years old. Allen has denied this. Many of his former collaborators have disowned him, while others have defended him.
