Hip-hop megastar Cardi B has just had her first child, a girl, with husband Offset. The baby was born yesterday, and received a name that is turning a lot of heads. Baby Cardi is named Kulture Kiari Cephus.
The name is derived from Offset's birth name, Kiari Kendress Cephus. Cardi's birth name is Belcalis Almanzar. The first name Kulture may also be a reference to Migos, who released hit records titled Culture and Culture II in 2017 and this year.
Cardi announced the birth today by posting semi-nude photos of herself while she was still pregnant to her Instagram account.
Fans were wondering if Cardi was pregnant for some time, until she announced her pregnancy during her performance on Saturday Night Live. She showed off her budding stomach with a white dress.
Cardi has continued to update her fans about her pregnancy throughout its course. She has never been shy about showing off her pregnant body.
She held an opulent, "Bronx fairytale" themed baby shower for Kulture last month.
Cardi and Offset didn't make the news of their marriage public until a month after they were married in 2017. They were married in their own bedroom.
On Twitter, Cardi explained, "One morning in September we woke up and decided to get married. We found someone to marry us, and she did, just the two of us and my cousin 😂. I said I do. with no dress no make up and no ring!"
Kulture will be joining Offset's three children from previous relationships.
