In a shocking turn of events, Melissa McCarthy has been nominated for both Best Actress for Can You Ever Forgive me? at the Academy Awards and Worst Actress for The HappyTime Murders at the Razzies. The nominations were announced within 24 hours of each other...

This is incredibly rare, with the last time being when Sandra Bullock won the Oscar for The Blind Side the same year she also received the Razzie for All About Steve. Interestingly enough, McCarthy and Bullock worked together as co-stars of 2013's The Heat. If McCarthy wins both, hopefully she follows in Bullock's footsteps and actually shows up for the Razzies...

The Razzies, also known as the Golden Raspberry Awards, is a mock award show in recognition of the worst in film that was co-founded by UCLA film graduates and film industry veterans John J. B. Wilson and Mo Murphy. The annual ceremony, like its nominations, precedes the corresponding Academy Awards ceremony by one day. The term raspberry in the name is used in its irreverent sense, as in "blowing a raspberry", or making a noise that may signify derision.
