Australia is notorious for its wildlife. It seems like everywhere you walk or swim, there's some nefarious creature waiting to sink its venomous whatevers into you. Although it's not quite the menagerie of horrors it's cracked up to be, there are certainly a few creepy crawlies to be aware of if you'll be traveling down under. These 15 are some of the scariest.
The box jelly isn't just the deadliest creature in Australia, it's the deadliest in the world. Its stings are so painful that they defy description. If you get stung badly, chances are you'll go into shock and drown before you can make it back to shore. The real kicker is that they're completely translucent and can be as small as a quarter. While some beaches put up nets to ward them off, it's possible for them to slip through. As if they weren't already creepy enough, they're the only jellyfish that has eyes. 24 of them, to be exact.
